Dylan Day memorial fund close to reaching its £25,000 target

THE Dylan Day memorial fund is very close to achieving its £25,000 target.

Keen footballer Dylan, aged 12, from Cellarhead, died from sepsis in January.

Dylan played for Leek CSOB U14’s and attended the Phil Bruce Scocer School based at Pointon Park, Cheddleton.

Today (April 27) the online justgiving appeal page set up by family and friends shows so far the magnificent sum £23,948 has been raised.

A recent coffee morning organised by local residents at Werrington village hall raised over £770 for the Sepsis UK Trust.

Local councillor David Shaw said: “Residents were devastated when Dylan was struck down with sepsis. He was a true little gentleman with the nicest of smiles.”

A charity football match in support of the fund has been organised for Sunday, May 6 at the Abbey Hulton FC ground.
