IPSTONES Luncheon Club has received a generous cash gift from JCB on its 23rd anniversary.
The club is faced with finding around £3,000 to help meet the cost of transporting pensioners from the local community for a weekly get-together in Ipstones Methodist Church.
JCB has met the short fall to secure the club’s transport needs for the next 12 months.
Club treasurer Christine Higton, a former JCB employee, said: “It gives us peace of mind for the next 12 months.”
The club, which is run and staffed by a committee of volunteers, meets once a week to provide company and a meal for vulnerable, isolated people in the local community.
