Leek Town U18 girls hit Stoke Town for six in league cup final

AFTER winning every game in the Shropshire/Staffordshire U18 Girls League to claim the title,  Leek Town added the league cup to their trophy cabinet by beating Stoke Town 6-1 in the final at Stone Dominoes Wellbeing Park ground.

Stoke scored first catching their opponents cold in the second minute, but the Leek girls soon found their feet and Alanya Tezgel equalised in the 12th minute with a good finish.

The Blues Babes continued to attack and produced several more chances before midfielder Ellie Salt picked up the ball and with a great run and fantastic 20-yard finish.

Leek dominated the second half and scored four more goals with great finishes from Anna O’ Leary (46 mins), Katie Palmer (5 0mins), Maddie Bragg (68 mins) and Alanya Tezgel with her second goal (70 mins).
