Two people arrested in Biddulph in connection with burglary and car theft offences

A MAN and a woman have been charged with a number of burglary and car theft offences in North Staffordshire.

They were arrested by police officers on routine patrol in the Biddulph area after being stopped in a stolen Vauxhall Signum.

Following fast track investigations by Newcastle Neighbourhood Police Team, the couple were linked to four burglaries, theft of motor vehicles and fraud which had all been committed since the end of April.

Steven Ruscoe, aged 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of burglary dwellings, four counts of theft of motor vehicles, handling of stolen goods, theft of fuel, fraud and driving offences.

Kim Warburton, aged 37, also of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of handling stolen goods and being allowed to be carried in a stolen car.

Police are still searching for a stolen silver Ford Transit Enterprise Rent-a-Car van, registration BK18 VBO. However, the van could now be displaying different registration plates.

Anyone who has seen a similar vehicle parked up anywhere for a substantial length of time, is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident 762 of May 8.
