GOALKEEPER Danny Roberts has agreed a new deal with Leek Town for the 2018/19 season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.
The 27 year old (pictured) has never failed to impress since joining Blues from Belper Town in January this year.
He was initially brought in as cover for the injured Ben Chapman.
Roberts is in his second spell with Leek after previously joining them in 2011. He made 53 appearances before moving to Norton United in the North West Counties League.
He has also had spells with Witton Albion and Glossop.
Blues new assistant boss Peter Ward said: “I’m really pleased Danny has agreed to a new deal. At our level he is one of the best around, so that’s a good piece of business done.”
Ward , who quit Loughborough Dynamo at the end of last season, said he was pleased to be back at Harrison Park.
“I know the set-up at Leek well, having been here twice before and I am looking forward to working with Neil Baker.”
Ward was Blues team manager in the mid-90s and he then later returned to be assistant to Lee Casswell in 2014.
“I love the involvement and I hope to use my contacts to help progress the club,” he said.
