Young Leek Town goalkeeper joins Eccleshall FC on loan

LEEK Town’s young reserve goalkeeper Owen Wyatt has joined Eccleshall FC on loan to gain more playing time.

Wyatt is heading to Pelsall Park to replace Matt Johnson who has taken the step up into the Evo-Stik League after agreeing a deal with Newcastle Town.

Eccleshall manager Nick Farrington said: “Owen played a few games for us last season. He’s a good young keeper who was not getting much game time at Leek, but he will with us.”

Wyatt will be having his skills tested in the newly-formed North West Counties League Division One South for his new club.

Eccleshall have organised a friendly at home to Leek CSOB on Saturday, July 21 as part of their preparations for the new season.
