First Bus services serving Cheadle face disruption on carnival day

FIRST Potteries bus services serving Cheadle will face some disruption this morning (July 7) as a result of road closures – including Tean Road and High Street – because of the town’s carnival.

The following journeys are affected:

1118 Hanley to Cheadle, 1202 return from Cheadle – This bus will terminate at Butlers Hill as High Street will be closed.

1148 Hanley to Uttoxeter – This bus will not be able to serve any stops between Cellarhead crossroads and Tean High Street. It will divert through Weston Coyney, Meir, Blythe Bridge and Draycott. If you wish to travel to the unserved section you are recommended to catch the 1218 from Hanley instead, which will go to Kingsley and Cheadle.

1203 Uttoxeter to Hanley – This bus will not be able to serve any stops between Tean High Street and Cellarhead crossroads. It will divert through Draycott, Blythe Bridge, Meir and Weston Coyney. If you wish to travel to Cheadle or Kingsley you are recommended you travel to Werrington, cross over┬áthe road and catch the next bus back to Cheadle.

1218 Hanley to Cheadle, 1302 return from Cheadle – This bus will terminate at the end of Froghall Road, near to the centre of Cheadle. It cannot go any further due to the closure of Tape Street and High Street.
