Cheadle 4 road race won by international athlete

INTERNATIONAL long distance runner Andrew Davies (Stockport/Mercia Fell) won the annual Cheadle 4 road race on Sunday.

The 38 year-old Welshman braved the heat to clock 20:14 on completing the four-mile course.

Davies finished comfortably clear of Mark Powell (Leicester Corinthians) 21:38 and Carl Moulton (Boalloy) third in 21:43.

The first local runner to finish was Mark Dalkins (Cheadle Running Club) in fifth, 21:55, who claimed the MV45 first prize.

The ladies race was won by Anna Hollingsworth (Stone Master Marathoners) in a time of 26:09.

The event was organised by Cheadle Running Club and received generous sponsorship from local businesses.
