Man questioned in relation to search for missing midwife

POLICE say they are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of hospital midwife Samantha Eastwood who has now been missing for five days.

Samantha, of Greenside Avenue, Baddeley Green, was reported missing by concerned colleagues at the Royal Stoke Hospital on Friday night.

Police were contacted after the popular 28 year old failed to turn up for work.

A 32 year old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on Sunday and questioned in relation to Samantha’s disappearance.

He has since been released from custody pending further inquiries

Police have revealed that Samantha was last seen at Stoke railway station at around noon on Saturday.

Officers have been scanning through CCTV footage in the area to try and find out where Samantha may have gone.

Samantha’s disappearance is being investigated by a team of detectives from the Staffordshire Police major and organised crime department.

Samantha is described as white, approximately 5ft 3ins tall, of medium build and with shoulder-length ginger hair. She has brown eyes and a fair complexion with freckles.
