LOCAL trainer Jennie Candlish has sent Aqua Libre on a 450-mile round trip from her Basford Grange stables, near Leek, to run in the 3.40 7f EBF Fillies Handicap at Brighton races today (Aug 8).
The five-year-old will be ridden by 5lb-claimer William Cox who hit the headlines after being involved in a three-horse pile-up on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last February.
Cox, pictured, emerged from the horrific collision with a broken jaw and damage to his teeth.
The youngster later has three mounts on the all-weather at Kempton for two other trainers: Pick A Little (5.40), Royal King (6.10) and Master Dancer (8.40).
