A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and an articulated lorry on the A520 at Birchall just outside Leek late this afternoon.
The accident happened close to Leek Golf Club at around 4.30pm. Police closed the road in both directions.
Firefighters used cutting gear to free the 39 year old woman from her crashed car.
Crews from Leek and Sandyford were despatched to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman was taken “fully conscious” to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Staffordshire Police on the non-emergency number 101.
