Visitors to Cheadle are invited into the historic parish church

VISITORS to Cheadle are invited to indulge in a tour of the town’s St Giles the Abbot Church, on High Street, this Saturday (Sept 15).

The Church of England place of worship – not to be confused with ’Pugin’s Gem,’ St Giles Roman Catholic Church, also in the Staffordshire Moorlands town, is opening its doors as part of Heritage Open Days.

The Grade II listed building, which was designed by architect James Pigott Pritchett (1789-1868) and built between 1837 and 1839, will open its doors to the public between 10am and 4pm.

Two 45-minute guided tours are taking place between 11am and 2pm.
