LEEK Town will be without two key players for tomorrow’s difficult Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round tie at high-flying Chorley.
Regular goalscorers Tim Grice and Dan Trickett-Smith are both sidelined by injury for the battle with the 10-games unbeaten National League North leaders at Victory Park.
Grice is nursing a hamstring injury while Trickett-Smith is suffering from a thigh strain.
There absence could not come at a worse time as Blues attempt to cash in further from the FA’s generous money-spinning competition.
Blues boss Neil Baker told the Sentinel newspaper’s Jim Hannah: “Tim’s injury is not as bad as first feared, but I think Saturday will be too early. As for Dan, it’s not looking good which means my options up front are limited for Saturday.”
Baker, however, will have the luxury of welcoming back winger Rob Stevenson, who missed Tuesday night’s cup replay win against Parkgate (3-0), and is also hoping midfielder Billy Reeves will have his move from Stafford Rangers completed in time for the trip north.
