Biddulph woman’s death not being treated as suspicious say police

DETECTIVES investigating the death of a woman in Biddulph at the weekend have confirmed they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Officers were called to Moorland Road at around 4.20pm on Sunday afternoon to a woman in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of ambulance staff she was pronounced deceased at 4.43pm.

After an investigation by detectives and forensics staff, it was confirmed this afternoon that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem to establish the exact cause of death is expected to be held soon. Formal identification has not yet been completed.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “The family have asked for their privacy to be respected whilst they come to terms with their loss”.
