Police probe unexplained death of woman in Biddulph

DETECTIVES are continuing to investigate the death of a woman in Biddulph yesterday (Oct 7).
The death of the 40-year-old woman is being treated as unexplained. A post-mortem to establish the cause of death is expected to take place today. 

Officers were called to Moorland Road around 4.20pm on Sunday to a woman in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of ambulance staff she was pronounced deceased at 4.43pm.

Police remain at the property today to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death. Local neighbourhood officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and reassurance patrols.

Detective Inspector James Brady, the senior investigating officer, said: “Anyone who has information that could help us understand what has happened leading up to the woman’s death should come forward and speak to my officers.

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this time who are being supported by specially-trained officers.”
