Outcrop harvests the cash for shrewd punters at Sedgefield races

OUTCROP harvested the cash for Staffordshire Moorlands trainer and followers on winning the opening hurdles race at Sedgefield today.

The four-year-old gelding scooted clear at the last under regular partner Sean Quinlan to land generous odds of 7/1 for punters at the Durham course.

The victory brought quick consolation for Candlish, pictured, after the Basford Grange yard’s Sunshineandbubbles failed to make the first three in the opener at Lingfield on the all-weather.

Outcrop’s win came at the eighth time of asking over jumps and was greeted with delight by joint owners Alan Baxter and Brian Hall.
