A TEENAGER arrested in connection with two knifepoint attacks on young people in a Staffordshire Moorlands village has been released from custody under investigation.
On Monday, 16 year old girl had a silver ring snatched from her after being threatened by a blade-wielding youth in an alleyway off Ox Pasture, Cheddleton.
At the same location 48 hours later later, a teenage boy was confronted in a similar manner and ordered to hand over his mobile phone, but the victim managed to flee on this occasion.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a sharpened or bladed article in connection with robbery offences that have taken place in the Cheddleton area.
“The boy has been released under investigation. Enquiries are ongoing.”
