Former village pharmacy could become a nursery

PLANShave been tabled for a new private childcare facility in a Staffordshire Moorlands village.

 Little Stars Childcare are seeking permission from district planners to convert theformer Millers Pharmacy, on Cheadle Road, into a nursery.

 The application has been offered for public consultation by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council until January 10.

 The pharmacy closed in July this year after it was considered no longer viable following changes introduced to NHS support funding.

The nursery would be on the ground floor of the building and include both indoorand outdoor playing facilities. The upper floor would provide residential accommodation. subject to planning permission being granted.

A decision is expected to be reached by district council planning committee members by early February next year.
