WATERHOUSES got within a whisker of ending Prince of Wales 100 per cent record in the Leek and District Sunday League.
The villagers looked like causing an upset when leading 2-1, but Prince of Wales snatched victory with two late goals.
In the 87th minute Mark Timothy headed in to equalise and a minute later Edwin Ellis smashed in the winner for the Leek pub team.
Waterhouses had taken the lead through Stu Robinson midway through the first half on for Sam Wainwright to reply.
Tony Swan restored Waterhouses lead and looked to be sending Prince of Wales to their first defeat in their 10 outings to date.
However, it wasn’t to be and the winners reward was to knock Golden Lion off the top of the table and go three points clear.
