Weather warning lifted but beware of icy roads

THE Met Office has cancelled a yellow weather warning of snow and ice for North Staffordshire from 1pm today until 9pm tomorrow.

However, temperatures are set to continue to hover around freezing across the district with another bitterly cold night in prospect.

A Met Office spokesman said: “It will become cloudy overnight with outbreaks of snow continuing for most places, although steadily easing. Another cold night with frost and ice.”

Motorists are once again being warned to take extra care, particularly on exposed roads in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Temperatures plunged to as low as -8deg C in the Moorlands last night.
