AN hilariously hideous journey through Staffordshire’s darkest history is on the menu for to Alton Towers this year.
The theme park has used cutting edge technology to turn back the clock to create its latest attraction, the Alton Towers Dungeon.
It’s a 45-minute experience for over-10s that includes five shows and what has been described as a ‘hideously scary’ boat ride for thrill-seekers.
An Alton Towers spokesman said: “Guests will be screaming with laughter while being sentenced to the Bishop of Stafford, surviving the plague, enduring the Torturer and also making a stop at the Witch of Burslem’s haunted cottage.
“The Alton Towers Dungeon will draw on the best of the Dungeon’s brand and apply Alton Towers expertise in family entertainment to bring to life some of the spookiest tales from the local area.”
Alton Towers opens the new season on Saturday, March 23.
