Leek still in with a chance of finishing third in the table after their latest win

Sam Hunt kicked Leek to victory against Veseyans.

LEEK 1st XV players can relax and enjoy watching the Six Nations rugby this this Saturday, after their hard-fought 30-13 victory at home to Spartans in Midlands Two West (North) last weekend.

It wasn’t until late in the game that Leek finally knocked over their determined opponents, after trailing 10-3 at the break, and in doing so collected a fourth try bonus point for their efforts.

Tries from Joe Newton-Taylor, Tom Scragg, Kini Buli and Andy McFaaden, and two penalty kicks and two conversions by Sam Hunt, gave Leek the win that keeps them fourth in the table and still with a chance of signing off third.

It all depends on the outcome of Leek’s last four games – Stafford away, Tamworth home, Telford away and Veseyans home – and, of course, the results achieved by the teams above them in the table.
