Police hunt for arsonists responsible for blaze at country hotel and golf club

POLICE are continuing with their hunt for arsonists who targeted Whiston Hall Hotel and Golf Club in the Staffordshire Moorlands a week ago.
Firefighters were despatched to the country retreat in the early hours of Thursday, April 4, following reports of a fire in the entrance area of the building.
The swift response of crews from Longton, Ipstones and Cheadle to the 2am incident prevented the fire from spreading.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “A fire investigation was carried out and the fire is believed to be deliberate.”
Staffordshire Police are appealing for help from the public in arresting those responsible for the fire.
A spokesman said: “We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the early hours of Thursday morning.”
