A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after falling at a remote beauty spot in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The lunchtime incident at Lud’s Church, near Gradbach, seven miles out of Leek, demanded a multi-agency response, which was led by Buxton Mountain Resecue Team (BMRT).

A BMRT spokesman said: “The team worked alongside Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, Midlands Air Ambulance, West Midlands Ambulance Service, First Responders and West Midlands Hazard Area Response.
“The lady, from the Stoke on Trent area, was then carried on a stretcher to the awaiting air ambulance and transferred to hospital (Royal Stoke).”

Lud’s Church is a deep moss-covered chasm full of history and myths.
