Blues step up play-off challenge with a victory at Clitheroe

Leek Town goalscorer Darren Chadwick.

Clitheroe 0, LEEK TOWN 1
DARREN Chadwick probably won’t score a more important goal than the one which gave Blues victory in sunny Lancashire this afternoon.
The Blues skipper headed in from a corner kick in the 34th minute, to make it six wins from seven starts for his side, and take them a step nearer to a place in the play-offs.
Before then Billy Reeves had wasted a golden opportunity to put Blues ahead when hit the outside of the post with an open goal at his mercy.
Leek Town: Roberts, Green, Adebsi, Grocott, Chadwick, Sanders, Walford, Reeves, Bott, Trickett-Smith, Stevenson. Subs: Johnson, Maguire, Short, Harrison, Chapman.
