Blues a winner with sports award judges

LEEK Town FC have been recoginsed for their contribution to local sport with a coveted award .
The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club were presented with the Chris Harper Memorial Award at the Sentinel/City of Stoke-on-Trent Sports Awards, which were held recently at the Kings Hall, Stoke.
The award is presented every year in memory of Sentinel sports writer Chris Harper.
On the same evening former Leek Town player Mark Bright, who went on to pusue a successful career in the Football League – including making two FA Cup Final appearances with Crystal Palace – was inducted into the City of Stoke-on-Trent Hall of Fame.
Blues chairman Jon Eeles said: “The awards are always a very good night out with a lot of mutual respect from all the people who attend, and give their time up to run sports clubs.
“We are very humbled to receive the award, and it was completely unexpected, and Id like to thank everyone who is involved in the running of our great club.”
