Blues Babes boss named coach of the year at annual district sports awards evening

LEEK Town Ladies manager Ian Smith was recognised as coach of the year at the Staffordshire Moorlands Sports Personailty of the Year Awards evening held at Alton Towers.
Ian led the Blues Babes to a pround double in the West Midlands Regional Womens’s League.
The team topped Division North unbeaten, winning all 16 games, and were also winners of the League Challenge Cup, beating Shifnal Town 7-2 in the final.
The following awards were presented at the club’s annual presentation evening:
Players’ player of the season: Chloe Brown.
Manager’s player of the season: Naomi Sale-Hancock.
Player of the match award: Alana Copeland.
Leading goalscorer: Chantelle Gallagher (38 league goals – 55 in total).
Club person of the year: Peter Cope.
Indiviual awards: Joanne Smith, Paul Smith and Peter Cope.
