IT dates back over 200 years and remains as popular as ever – it’s the annual Leek Club Day Parade through the town centre.
The annual colourful community gathering – also known as ‘Walking Around Day’ – embraces all of the churches in Leek and is happening this Saturday (July 13).
The traditional parade through the town centre will set off from Market Place at 3pm and make its way up Buxton Road and turn into Osborne Street, before heading down Fountain Street and onto Derby Street making its way back to its starting point.
The parade this year will be led by Trinity Church and will see community leaders and various organisations taking part with members of the town’s churches.
The Rev. Richard Pope from Trinity Church will lead Open Air Worship in market Place at 2.30pm before the parade sets off.
This year’s theme is ‘Walking the Way.’
