LEEK will be cheering Nathan Gorman on when he fights Daniel Dubois for the vacant British heavyweight title at the O2 Arena, in London, on Saturday.
The pair are best buddies and Gorman offcially opened Andy’s new boxing gym in his home town in May.
The undefeated Gorman, who is trained by former multiple world champion Ricky Hatton, has been Andy’s sparring partner in the past
Gorman, 22, from Nantwich, was given a warm welcome on his arrival as Keatesy’s Boxing Academy, in Cruso Street, Leek.
Likeable Andy, 28, turned boxing pro at the age of 19, after making his mark in the ring as an amateur.
Andy’s gym enterprise is a joint venture with his partner, Carly Ball, 32, who has encouraged him throughout his boxing career, which he has combined with working as a postman.
The-not-for-profit academy, housed in former industrial premises, has quickly developed into a big success, after opening up its doors to both adults and children.
