Cheadle misses out on government funding

A STAFFORDSHIRE Moorlands town has missed out on a share of £675m government funding.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council submitted a bid to the Future High Streets Fund for Cheadle, but has been unsuccessful.
The money would have been used to help find new uses for empty High Street premises and introducing ‘smart parking technoolgies’.
Unsuccessful bids were also made by local councils on behalf of two other North Staffordshire towns, Newcastle under Lyme and Longton.
