In-out Weston shake it all about in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League

IN a dramatic about-turn Weston CC have been re-instated to Division One of the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League within a few days of resigning.
The Cheshire-based club’s first team quit the league at the beginnin of the week blaming lack of players and funding issues.
However, Weston’s first team fixtures will now be fulfilled by the club’s seconds for the rest of the season, as a result of which the seconds remaining Division Five fixtures will be conceded.
League manager Keith Tunnicliffe told The Sentinel: “The record of the club’s 1st XI will be reinstated in Division One immediately, and the results recorded as normal following completion of their matches each week.
“The scheduled games in Division Five for the remainder of the season, starting with Sandon CC this weekend, will continue to be shown as fixtures, but the results will appear as match conceded with 25 points awarded to the opposing team in accordance with league rules.
“All teams due to host matches aganst West CC 2nd XI in Division Five during the rest of the season will also receive proceeds from fines imposed on Weston CC for non-fulfilment of fixture in accordance with League rule D5a.”
