Second man arrested after street attack

A SECOND man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in a Leek street on Friday night.

The male victim, who has not been named, suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to the Royal Stoke Hospital in a critical condition.

Emergency services were called to West Street at around 8.40pm, where the man was found lying injured outside the Co-op supermarket.

A 24-year-old man of no fixed address, and a 29-year-old man, from Leek, were taken into custody and have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
