Football coaching for girls in Cheadle is proving to be a winner at leisure centre

Hannah and Sophie Price presented medals to Cheadle SMU girls’ footballers.

GIRLS’ football in Cheadle has been given a kick-start with a seven-week coaching programme at the town’s leisure centre.
Eighteen girls, aged between eight and 11, took part in the weekly sessions staged at the Staffordshire Moorlands Leisure Centre.
The programme was run by Cheadle SMUFC in conjunction with the leisure and the Cheadle and Staffordshire FA (Wildcats).
On its conclusion Hannah and Sophie Price, who play for West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City Ladies teams, presented the girls with medals to acknowledge their participation and enthusiasm.
Chris Morton, Cheadle SMUFC welfare officer, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the response to the programme.
“The girls have been amazing and we have all had greaT FUN.
“We look forward to continue to work wirth the girls to prmote and develop girls football in the area,” she added.
There are currently two sessions running at the leisure centre each work for girls aged five to 11: Monday 6-30-7.30pm and Wednesday 4.30-5.30pm.
