Two men arrested in connection with late night armed raid on Leek convenience store

TWO men are being held in police custody in connection with an armed raid on a Leek convenience store earlier this week.

Armed police were called to Premier Stores, in Southbank Street, at around 10 o’clock on Tuesday night, after a report was received that a man, holding what is believed to have been a pistol, was demanding cash.

A large amount of money was taken from the till.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Both are from Leek.
