BLUES fought back from a goal down to maintain their 100 per cent record as leaders of the BetVictor NPL South East Division.
Neil Baker”s side were rocked when Ilkeston’s Rod Orlando-Young nipped through in the fourth minute to score.
It wasn’t until the 78th minute that Blues equalised through Darren Chadwick from the penalty spot, after Ilkeston goalkeeper Richard Stainsby was sent off for a rash challenge.
Ten-man Ilkeston then found themselves in arrear just four minutes later when skipper Chadwick scored with an excellent free kick. Dave Roberts then pulled off an excellent save to deny Ilkeston an equaliser
Ilkeston finished the game with nine men after substitute Alex Marshall was ordered off in added time for a strong challenge. He had earlier been yellow-carded together with Blues Charlie Walford.
Leek’s six league win on the bounce moved them six points clear at the top of the table, as a result of second placed Stamford losing 3-0 at home to Carlton Town.
