Grice spares Blues red faces with a last gasp equaliser on their travels

Goalscorer Jason Law.

Newcastle Town 2, Leek Town 2
NEWCASTLE Town went close to getting quick revenge for their previous weekend’s 5-2 defeat by Leek in the Buildbase FA Trophy.
It needed a 94th minute equaliser from substitute Tim Grice to deny them what would have been only their third win of the season in the BetVictor NPL South East Division.
Newcastle’s task was made easier by the dismissal of Leek’s Oliver Harrison on the stroke of half-time with the scores locked at 1-1.
Leek swept into a 10th minute lead through loan player Jason Law from a pin-point Harry Goode cross.
However, after surviving heavy pressure from their visitors, Newcastle got back on terms through Taylor Attrell in the 41st minute.
Leek started the second-half with 10 men, following Harrison’s red card, and quickly replaced goascorer Law with Jessy Bavanganga.
The visitors got into further trouble with the referee when defender Louis Keenan was yellow-carded.
Newcastle took advantage of having the extra man when they grabbed the lead through Harvey Powell after 53 minutes.
This prompted Leek to make two changes in the 67th minute, when Tim Grice replaced James Kirby and Lewis Short came on for Goode.
Newcastle appeared to be on their way to inflicting only the second league defeat of the season on their visitors, before Grice levelled in added time.
