A winner for Team Candlish at Bangor Races

Trainer Jennie Candlish.

STEEPLECHASER Zolfo recorded his third win of the year for Staffordshire Moorlands trainer Jennie Candlish at Bangor on Dee Races today (No 13).
The seven-year-old grey gelding, stabled at Basford Grange, near Cheddleton, was six lengths clear at the finish of the Friends of Tarporley War Memorial Hospital 2m 4f handicap chase.
It marked a successful return to the course on the Welsh border for horse and jockey Sean Quinlan, where they won in August, following up a success at Cartmel in May.
On his latest start Zolfo was towards the rear of the field, before making headway from three fences out and then leading at the last to stay on for a comfortable victory in heavy going at generous odds of 17/2.
