ROCESTER came close to pulling off a shock result against the Midland League First Division leaders.
The Romans stormed back from 2-0 to put the game back into the melting pot with a superb 54th minute strike from Liam Robinson.
The hosts went in 1-0 up at half-time after Simon Allcott gave them the lead in the 26th minute.
Allcott then turned goal provider after 51 minutes when he created the opening for Matty Langham to score.
Rocester boss Paul Wright said afterwards: “Another superb performance that didn’t get the rewards we were due. We set out with a plan and to a man the lads stood up to the best side in the league by a country mile. With a bit of luck we would have taken the points. Loads of positives as we move into a busy period of games.”
