DEFENDER Carl Allen, 36, was making his 500th appearance for Rocester at the Sports Secure Sphinx Stadium in Coventry tonight.
Liam Robinson fired Rocester ahead direct from a free kick in the 10th minute.
It was Robinson’s fifth goal in nine games since joining the Romans from manager Paul Wright’s former club Eastwood Hanley.
However, GKN levelled in the 36th minute, when Sean Kavanagh broke through and lobbed the ball over the advancing Charlie Wood.
Teenager Jordan Dodd scored Rocester’s winner from the penalty spot in the 70th minute – his 15th goal of the season – after Elisio Francesco, another recruit from Eastwood Hanley, was brought down in the box.

A delighted Rocester boss Paul Wright said after the game: “A superb win. There are no easy games in this league.
“The boys performances have been high of standard recently and we have ben telling them they will get their rewards soon.
“The challenge now is to get back to back wins and build a little run.”

Rocester are at home to Stafford Town in MFL One this Saturday (3pm).
