Leek face Malvern away in Midland Intermediate Cup semi-finals

LEEK 1st XV have drawn Midlands Two West (South) side Malvern away in the semi-finals of the Midland Intermediate Cup.
Malvern were relegated from Midlands One West (South) at the end of last season, but the Worcestershire-based club have made a fine start to their 2019-20 campaign and stand third in the table with seven wins to their credit from eight starts.
Their one defeat to date was inflicted on them by visitors Stratford on Avon, the team immediately above them in the table, who ran out convincing 31-8 winners.
Leek embark on their 90-mile journey south to Malvern on Saturday, January 18, and are hoping to take with them a good following. The match has a 2pm start.
Plans are being laid to book at least one supporters coach.
Leek enjoyed a fine 40-10 victory at home to Moseley Oak in Midlands Two West (North) on Saturday.
The win keeps Leek fourth in the the table on 34 points – just six points behind league leaders Wolverhampton.
