Cheddleton a winner on the Scottish Borders

STAFFORDSHIRE Moorlands trainer Jennie Candlish’s gamble of sending stable star Cheddleton on a 426-mile round trip up to Kelso Races paid off.
Cheddleton – named after the village overlooked by the Basford Grange Stables – was a comfortable winner of the 2m Live Streams On Racing TV Extra Novices Hurdle at the Scottish Borders course.
The five-year-old gelding, sent off as 4/6 fav and ridden by Sean Quinlan, was recording his second win from three starts over the smaller obstacles.
Cheddleton has now won three of his four races in all, starting with a successful maiden appearance in a 1m7f flat race at Haydock Park last March.
