Storm Brendan beats Uttoxeter Town

UTTOXETER Town’s interrupted season in the Midland League continued last night with another postponement because of the weather.
Dean Arnold’s side were scheduled to face Hinckley AFC away, but the Division One fixture was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
Uttoxeter were hoping to quickly atone for the weekend’s disappointing 3-1 loss at Heath Hayes, ahead of this Saturday’s testing encounter with second-placed Brocton in Stafford.
But Storm Brendan took no pity on the Welfare Ground and an early inspection spared Uttoxeter a wasted journey into Leicestershire.
The driving rain led to the cancellation of all three scheduled Division One fixtures on the night, but the league cup tie between Leicester Road and Nuneaton Griff went ahead and ended in a 4-1 victory for the former.
