Quick public response to controversial ambulance service decision affecting Cheadle

A PUBLIC meeting is being held in Cheadle tonight (Jan 16) to raise concerns about the proposed closure of the ambulance service fast response post in the town.
Menbers of the public are being urged to show their support at the meeting at the New Life Church, in Tape Street, which starts at 7pm.
An online petition organised in protest against the West Midlands Ambulance Service’s controversial decision to withdraw the 4×4 fast response vehicle has attracted support from more than 2,000 people.
The vehicle serves not only Cheadle but also the surrounding villages and is claimed to have saved a number of lives – including those of children.
Town councillor Elizabeth Whitehouse said: “I am organising the public meeting so people can have their safety on the propsal to close the response post and remove the 4×4 vehicle from the town.”
Cheadle Town council have invited the West Midlands Ambulance Service chief executive to attend the meeting.
