Another 3G playing surface challenge for Uttoxeter Town on their travels

UTTOXETER Town return to action with a tough assigment in the quarter-finals of the Staffs FA Senior Cup at Rushall Olympic tonight (Feb 4).
Both teams have something to prove after losing their respective league games at the weekend.
Uttoxeter lost 2-0 away to fellow promotion challengers Lichfield City in the Midland League Division One, while Rushall were undone 3-1 at home to Royston Town in the Southern League Premier Division Central..
Dean Arnold’s Uttoxeter team face the challenge of an artificial playing surface for a second successive game – on this occasion against opposition from a higher league.
The 3G surface at Rushall – similar to that at Lichfield City – was laid at their impressive Dale Road ground in time for the start of the current season.
Rushall are past winners of the Staffs Senior Cup and lost 3-0 to Stafford Rangers in last year’s final staged at Stoke City’s bet365 Stadium.
Stafford are already through to the last four of this season’s competition after winning their quarter-final tie 2-0 at home to Uttoxeter’s league rivals Brocton.
Also in action in the quarter-finals tonight are Newcastle Town at home to Walsall Wood.
In the other quarter-final Stoke City are away to either Tamworth and Kidsgrove Athletic who play next week.
