UTTOXETER Town will move back into the automatic promotion places in the Midland League First Division, if they can avoid defeat at Nuneaton Griff tomorrow (Feb 12) night.
A solitary point would be good enough for Uttoxeter to dislodge Lichfield City from fourth spot.
However, Dean Arnold’s men will be expected to beat a team staring relegation in the face at the foot of the table.
Uttoxeter fought back from 2-0 down to beat Hinckley AFC 3-2 at home in a cliff-hanger on Saturday.
Hinckley stunned their promotion-seeking hosts by scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes through a Danny Harris and Lewis Collins.
However, Jake Avery’s brace levelled matters by half-time and Alex Britton won it for Uttoxeter with the only shot on target in the second half.
Uttoxeter boss Arnold said: “”When we went 2-0 down all sorts of things are going through your mind, but credit to the squad for turning it around ane getting all three points.
“It’s all about where we sit at the end of the season and Brocton losing and Studley and Leicester Road drawing were big results for the top seven or eight.
“This league is like the EFL Championship and anyone can beat anyone, so we’ve just got to keep working hard and playing as a squad and we will see what happens,” he added.
ROCESTER FC’s friendly away to Shifnal Town tonight (Feb 11) has been cancelled.
