Two people arrested after serious car crash on A520

TWO people have been arrested in connection with a serious non-stop road accident which has left a woman fighting for her life.
Emergency services rushed to a collision involving two cars on the A520 between Weston Coyney and Cellarhead shortly before eight o’clock on Friday night.
The collision involved a Ford KA and an Audi 53. A woman in her 30s is detained in hospital with possibly life-changing injuries. A man also sustained serious injuries.
Police initiated a search after it was reported a man had fled the scene.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “A 25-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a serious road traffic accident. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
“A 54-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice. She was also released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
