LOVE 4 LEAH CHARITY DONATE £5,000 TO POINTON PARK FACILITY

JANE Powell, who set up the Love4Leah charity after her daughter, Leah, died from cancer, aged just 13, has handed over £5,000 to the John Pointon Sports and Recreational Facility at Cheddleton.

Leah Powell, from Leek, bravely spent 13 months fighting Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare childhood cancer.

The Love4Leah charity was set up by family and friends so that others suffering from the same condition could take a holiday in a purpose-built retreat at Rudyard near Leek.

However, due to the amount of time the project was taking up, the family decided they could no longer carry on. Pointon Park was one of a few organisations selected by Jane to make a donation from the charity.

She told John Barratt, manager of Pointon Park, because she had such a lovely time at the park last summer, when she organised a celebrity football match for her charity, she thought the park was deserved of the donation, which will go along way to support events and ambitions of the park.

“Everyone connected to Pointon Park thank Jane and her family for the wonderful donation and wish her well for the future,” said John.
