More people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in the district

THE number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in the Staffordshire Moorlands has risen.

Latest figures from the Office of National Statistics show their were 515 claimants in February, compared to 480 in January.

Nationally, employment continues to run at a record high of 74.6 per cent post Brexit, with 31.85 million people in work.

This is an increase of 315,00 on the year and more than 2.8 million since 2010.
