Police investigate spate of rural crime in the Moorlands

THIEVES are keeping police busy in rural parts of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

A number of items including a TV were stolen from a property at Alstonefield on Monday.

The offenders gained entry by forcing a window after an unsuccessful attempt to force open a door.

The force helicopter assisted with a search after a fire-damaged vehicle was found at Whiston.

The Land Rover Ranger Discovery was abandoned severely damaged in Blakeley Lane.

Police investigations are also continuing into the theft of quad bike from a farm field at Waterhouses.

The owner was only a short distance away tending to animals when the Honda 420 model was taken.
