Footpath resurfacing work has begun in Moorlands village

THE village of Cheddleton in the Staffordshire Moorlands is set to benefit from a £160,000 investment to improve footpaths in the locality.

Staffordshire County Council’s highways crews have already begun carrying out resurfacing work on footpaths on Hillside Road and St Edwards Road.

The work started on Tuesday, January 2 and is expected to take around 13 weeks to complete.

Helen Fisher, Cabinet Support Member for Highways and Transport at Staffordshire County Council, pictured, said: “The investment and improvement work here is great news for people in the area and I am sure residents will notice a real difference in the condition of the footpaths once the work is complete.

We have around 6,000km of roads and 2,400km of footways so maintaining and improving the network is an ongoing challenge and we always thank people for their co-operation during schemes like this.”

Access to properties and businesses will be maintained as far as possible but may be restricted at times depending on works progress. Residents will be informed about this as necessary.
